After 2 months of having arrived here in Lawrence city, I got an opportunity to visit a place that is beyond 10 miles from my apartment. Last two months have been pretty much commuting to college and back home. Finally, thanks to the International students Association, who organized a trip to Kansas city Zoo, I went beyond the boundary that I had set for myself without having a car. The trip ticket was very cheap too 🙂

Before boarding the bus

So I roamed around alone in the zoo for 3 hours and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Met lots of kids. Saw Kangaroo, Squirrel monkey, Meerkat, Penguins, Polar Bear, llama, many families of monkeys and many other animals for the first time.

Sharing some snaps to highlight the visit

Polar Bear – Show off guy – went in loops doing reverse flips !! Loved it

The Gorillas looked very sad. There was one Gorilla that sat right next to the mirror looking in grief. For there were no visitors there except for these three of them who sat in the chair next to the mirror, and when I told them “He does’t look all that happy, does he ??” One of them replied, “Yes ! Poor guy. Thought we’ll give him some company for few minutes” 🙂

Zoo had two sections, Australian and African they were called. Very well set up place. I liked the African one. Most people took an aerial cable car to look around, but I preferred walking around.

Feed Crocodile ?? I din’t spot any….

And the night ended with dinner in downtown, with Mexican food in Chipotle !
